STENUM Asia was set up in March 2007 as a not-for-profit entity with help from an Austrian consulting group. It has since grown into an internationally recognized sustainability consulting firm that provides implementation support to high impact projects of regional or national importance that are funded by development institutions. It also undertakes voluntary research and support activities where appropriate to further the cause of responsible consumption and production in alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG 12).
STENUM Asia is empanelled with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) as an energy service company (ESCO) and is also an active member of the Alliance for Energy Efficiency Economy (AEEE).

The STENUM Asia team has rich experience of working on large scale projects funded by international development institutions like EU Switch Asia, UNIDO, GIZ and WWF and is currently implementing five large international projects in South and Central Asia along with different consortium partners in each project.
